List of FU Berlin Responsible AI Courses

The following list contains a selection of responsible AI courses that are/were available at the FU Berlin. Some of these courses might be only available during the summer or winter semester or might even be discontinued in the future. The list features courses with various focus areas indicated by keywords. Links may be volatile however the name of the course should make it possible to find every course.

The keywords we use are defined as follows:

  • Ethical principles: This includes the consideration of principles such as fairness, transparency, responsibility and data protection in the development and use of AI systems.
  • Critical reflection: This includes thinking critically about one’s own actions and the impact they have on the future and others.
  • Diversity and inclusion: This includes considering diversity and inclusion in the development of data sets, models and in the person developing and using AI systems.
  • Data security and data protection: This includes ensuring that personal data used by AI systems is treated securely and confidentially and that data protection law is complied with.
  • Explainability: This includes the ability to understand and explain the decisions and processes of AI systems.
  • Sustainability and environmental impact: This refers to the impact of AI systems on the environment and society in general and the need to minimize this impact and make it sustainable.
  • Governance: This includes the creation of framework conditions and processes for monitoring and regulating the development and use of AI systems.
